Fresh Forms for Flexibility

When work can happen anywhere a smartphone or tablet can go, and the most important function of offices is a stage for collaboration, designing spaces becomes more complex. The cast of characters can change from hour to hour, and the days are completely unscripted.

David Mocarski designed the Slide Collection with that reality in mind: “What makes an office an office? How can furniture and fixtures address the changing needs of how and where we sit and work?”

Mocarski continues, “The collection is designed to add a new range of flexibility, functionality, and purpose to a variety of office and public spaces. The furniture can be grouped and re-grouped to define space, place, and activity.” Current seating and tables are easily movable; Dock seating provides visual stability as well as physical comfort, multiplied by the versions of the Port lounge chair.

And Current, Dock, and Port share a design language of lines, angles, details, and spare yet stable legs and bases. The pieces speak to Mocarski’s interest in materials and technology, focusing each on its essence, suiting each to its function.
